Overview of EASCO training events

Training on Science & Technology and complementary skills

Background information

Since 2001, some members of EASCO, M. Mezzina, O. Merten, E. Kremer and others (see the EASCO members) who operated in Généthon (Evry, F),started a training programme of large conference and workshops on gene vectors and their application in gene therapy, such as listed the downloadable table .
Since the GVPN conference (see Journal of Gene Med, Trends in Genetics and Mol Ther) for more information), three Eurolabcourses have been organised in Evry and Bellaterra (SP) in 2002-2004, followed by the Moleda Summer School in 2007 and the CONSERT labcourse in 2008, both in Evry and Paris area.

The downloadable final event reports contain also the evaluation feedback of the participants and the content of the supplements of journals published after the courses (for the Eurolabcourses only).

The courses represented a novelty, since for the first time practical laboratory training was combined with a large symposium open to all with plenary lectures, short selected communication, poster sessions, interdisciplinary workshops and round table discussions, as depicted in chart below:

course format

Therefore, these courses attracted many researchers from academic institutions and industry: the first ones found the opportunity to consolidate their career and the second ones, found new market perspectives.

As soon as EASCO started the European School of Management, the part "C" in the figure will be added to the first two parts concerning the scientific and technological training.
